A short note
from the Prez………..
Greetings one and all. First of all, our condolences to Wallace Murray and his family on the passing of his wife. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
Thanks to our Database Manager, we are slowly catching up with the renewal TDS’s. It is a very time consuming job, so please be patient.
Congratulations to Jim Maike KB8IFE, Vice-President, Kelly Karpp KB8RWG, Treasurer, and Ron Gordon W8YUC, on their election to office at the September meeting in Lansing. I would like to thank Joel Goldberg, our out going Treasurer, for all he has done for this organization.
The revision of the By-Laws finally got of the ground, and by the December meeting we will have some recommendations to make. Once this is done we will start with the Standards and Procedures.
Just a reminder the December will be held in Oakland County at the EOC office on the 2nd. Directions will be in this newsletter, or log on to MARC’s website. The locations for 2002 are as follows: March - Saginaw, June - Grand Rapids, September - Lansing, and at this time December is open.
If anyone has any questions, you can reach the Board via of the website, or my phone number is 586-465-7126. For those of making the meeting on the 2nd, I’ll see you there.
73, Dennis, W8DFG President
Database Manager /
Webmaster’s Corner
The past quarter has seen a flurry of database updates. I processed 111 renewal TDS’s in addition to the regular activities of recording dues, email, address and phone number changes.
I produced two updates of the web site Repeater Directory in addition to updates to the Meetings and Newsletter pages.
The latest Repeater Directory shows that just under half the 406 repeaters listed have an Annual Renewal Update TDS due. Processed TDS's did take a bite, but older TDS have aged another 90 days and are now due for update.
I am currently working on TDS’s submitted this past August. Once your TDS has been processed the database and the repeater directory will be updated and you will be back “in the black” for two years.
TDS Backlog statistics:
Website TDS Submissions in the queue:
· 51 Renewal/Modification Requests
· 49 New Coordination Requests
Paper TDS Submissions in the queue ( in my possession ):
- 0 Renewal/Modification Requests
- 0 New Coordination Requests
For those members that will be submitting Paper and
Website TDS forms in the near future:
Please fill out your forms completely. Please provide your repeater’s street address or the nearest crossroads. If you are recording changes, mention them in the comments area of the online form or attach a note to the paper TDS. As always, accurate and legible TDS forms make the process of updates go faster.
I logged 65 hours on MARC activities during the past two months.
