President’s Update: The MARC Board approved resolution #15 at the December board meeting that adds two new repeater pairs in the 70 cm band. The new pairs are 441.075 in and 446.075 out as well as 441.150 in and 446.150 out. Adding these two pairs will help with new applications for coordination. These new pairs have the repeater output on frequencies that were reserved for simplex channels with the inputs being old link and control frequencies. MARC has granted provisional coordinations for digital repeaters since 2007 and so far, with little or no interference issues. This is great news. The main issue now is the very limited amount of repeater pairs. Many areas of the state have no available pairs. This is a very big problem on 2-meters. If your radio club would like to coordinate a digital repeater, you could consider converting your analog repeater to digital or try a 440 coordination. Your ideas and suggestions are welcome. The next board meeting will be held electronically and open to all on March 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Instructions to join the meeting are included in this newsletter. 73, Phil W8IC ----------------------------------------------- Electronic Meeting Information: The March 1, meeting is an Electronic Meeting at 1:00pm!
